On behalf of the dedicated men and women of Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department, I welcome you to our website. SSVFD is an all volunteer Class Five rated department serving the citizens of and visitors to Southern Shores and Martin’s Point on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Providing fire prevention, fire suppression, and, first responder service in support of Dare County EMS, we serve a permanent population of 2,600 that grows to 12,500 in season.
